Biography
Richard Dela Dorkenoo is an educator, researcher, and project management professional with 18 years of experience in French language education. He specializes in French language instruction, Francophone studies, and French literature, and currently teaches French within the Cambridge International curriculum. Renowned for his learner-centred and communicative approach to language teaching, Richard is passionate about helping students move beyond memorization to become confident, independent users of the language.
His work is driven by the belief that language is best learned through meaningful communication, authentic cultural engagement, and purposeful interaction that empowers learners to use newly learned languages with confidence both inside and beyond the classroom. He is committed to transforming language education by designing innovative curricula, teaching resources, and assessment materials that seamlessly integrate grammar, literature, culture, and real-world communication; and through this holistic approach, create a dynamic learning environment where students develop not only linguistic proficiency but also intercultural competence, critical thinking, and a genuine appreciation for diversity.
